Ethics Committees (IEC / IAEC)

SWAMI VIVEKANAND SUBHARTI UNIVERSITY HAS TWO ETHICS COMMITTEE

  1. Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), Subharti Medical College and Hospital
    Subhartipuram, NH-58, Delhi–Haridwar Bypass Road, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – 250005 

    The Committee is registered with the Government of India under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Ethics Committee Registration Division, bearing Registration No. ECR/256/Inst/UP/2013/RR-24, effective from 30th July 2024. This registration is valid for a period of five years and is mandatory for the review and approval of clinical trials.
     
  2. University Ethics Committee Medical (UECM),Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Subhartipuram, Delhi–Haridwar Bypass Road, NH-58, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – 250005 

    The University Ethics Committee Medical (UECM) is registered with the National Ethics Committee Registry for Biomedical and Health Research (NECRBHR), Department of Health Research (DHR) and is recognized by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The Committee holds Registration No. EC/NEW/INST/2023/UP/0358, as per letter dated 05 October 2023. The registration is valid for a period of five years from the date of issue. The Committee is authorized to review biomedical and health research projects. It evaluates research proposals submitted by faculty members, thesis protocols of postgraduate students (MD/MS), PhD scholars, MSc students, as well as undergraduate research projects.
     
  3. Constitution of the Ethics Committees:

    Both Ethics Committees are constituted in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines. The key functionaries of the Committees are Dr. Meenakshi Jindal (Chairperson) and Dr. Anita Pandey (Member Secretary). The Committees comprise both internal members from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) and external members, ensuring multidisciplinary representation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
     
  4. Meetings of the Ethics Committee : 

    The Ethics Committee convenes meetings at regular intervals, typically every one to three months. Additional meetings may be scheduled as required, particularly for expedited review of proposals. Research studies may be undertaken and published only after obtaining prior review and approval from the Ethics Committee.
